A Grand Prairie police officer suffered non-life threatening injuries when the officer was shot while serving a search warrant Thursday night.

ARLINGTON -- A Grand Prairie police officer suffered non-life threatening injuries when the officer was shot while serving a search warrant Thursday night.

According to Grand Prairie Police Department spokesman Lyle Gensler, the officer was fired on by a suspect in the 2900 block of Forest Hollow Ln. and grazed by a bullet. Gensler said the officer's bullet-proof vest may have saved their life.

The officer's identity has not been released.

A male suspect was arrested. He has not been identified.
