Grand Prairie football coach arrested for improper relations with student

Kevin Garrett, 30, was arrested and is charged with having an improper relationship with a student. He is a football coach at South Grand Prairie High School.

GRAND PRAIRIE- Coach Kevin Garrett, 30, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with having an improper relationship with a student.

Garrett is an assistant coach at South Grand Prairie High School.  Officials will not reveal if the student he is accused of having a relationship with attends the high school or another school within the district.

The Grand Prairie Police Department may file felony charges against Garrett with the Dallas County District Attorney at the end of the week. 

The coach is on administrative leave with pay.

Garrett is a former professional football player who played for the Houston Texans and the Carolina Panthers.
