Garland police charged a man this week in connection with a hit and run accident that killed a man in October 2013.

Roman Lewis Sanchez, 20, of Garland, was named in a Crime Stoppers tip last week as the driver of the Lincoln Town Car that struck Dennis Hall and killed him.

Joe Harn, Garland police spokesman, said Sanchez was already being held in the Dallas County Jail on separate charges when investigators received the tip.

Harn also said that they have not recovered the car yet, but Sanchez was cooperative and has provided a statement admitting to the crime.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Jupiter Road and Miller Park Drive at about 3 p.m. on Oct. 22, 2013.

According to witnesses, Hall was on his motorcycle and had the right of way in the intersection when Sanchez ran a red light and hit him.

Hall was taken to Medical Center of Plano where he later died.

Sanchez remains in the Dallas County Jail on a charge of failure to stop and render aid—causing death. His other charges include driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

His total bond amount is $250,500.
