A man wanted on child sex assault charges apparently fatally shot himself Tuesday night after leading police on a 90-minute, high-speed chase around Dallas County and into neighboring Rockwall County. Balch Springs police spokesman Lt. Mark Maret said the driver, Noah Michael Timmons (pictured), 26, fled as officers went to the unnamed Timmons' residence to serve a warrant for four aggravated sexual assaults of a child.

GARLAND –– For nearly two hours Tuesday night, Balch Springs police say 26-year-old Noah Michael Timmons tried to outrun them and his own misdeeds with gunfire and a gas pedal.

While on the run, Timmons videotaped the chase from his perspective, and posted the clip on Facebook, saying, “I got like five cops behind me right now …I ain’t stopping.”

Timmons fled as police tried to serve him with warrants for the repeated sexual assault of his ex-girlfriend’s six-year-old daughter, to whom he even recorded a final ‘I love you’ before he wrecked the truck and fatally shot himself.

Timmons’ ex-girlfriend, the mother of the little girl he allegedly molested, had been following the entire chase, trying to talk Timmons out of his final act.

“I said, 'Please don’t,' and he said. 'That’s it; I have to. I am not going back to jail,'” said the mother, who News 8 has chosen to not identify to protect her daughter’s identity. “He said there are no excuses, but I was molested all my life and abused, and he said, 'But still that’s no excuse,' and he said, 'I’m sorry.'”

The grandmother of the young victim said she hated to see the case end in death.  She wanted justice.

“You’ve done this to a child; be a real man and pay the price for it,” she said.

But the child's grandmother said she was relieved. “I’ve been hiding for nearly a week from this guy threatening my life.”

She no longer has to hide herself or her granddaughter from Timmons.
