FORT WORTH -- Homicide investigators in Fort Worth are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect in a robbery/homicide that occurred Monday night.

At about 9:30 p.m. Monday, the victim, his wife and two children returned home to the Southgate Manor Apartments in the 1200 block of E. Seminary. When they exited their vehicle, they saw several individuals standing in the breezeway, one of whom was wearing a ski mask and carrying a pistol.

The armed suspect approached the family and demanded money. At that time, the family's three-year-old child ran towards the family's apartment. The suspect ran in the same direction the child, and the victim followed to protect the child when the suspect shot the victim multiple times.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died.

If you have any information regarding the crime or anyone involved in the robbery/homicide, call Fort Worth Detective Rhoden at 817-392-4336. Tipsters may remain anonymous and a reward of up to $1,000 could be offered to anyone who provides a tip that leads to an arrest for a crime.
