Body found
ELLIS COUNTY — Ellis County deputies are investigating the suspicious death of a female after her body was found in a rural area near Waxahachie Monday morning.
The sheriff's office said it was notified at 11:03 a.m. about the remains that were observed in the 1400 block of Black Champ Road, about six miles northwest of Waxahachie and less than a mile from Mid-Way Regional Airport.
The victim was described as a black female, 5'-4" tall and weighing approximately 115 pounds. She was wearing a black or dark gray tank top, blue jean shorts and white Nike tennis shoes with purple shoe laces. No age was specified, and her identity remains a mystery.
Investigators believe she "suffered fatal trauma" at another location less than one week before her body was hidden in the wooded area.
Deputies said they are investigating a possible link to Dallas.
