DALLAS — A car window was shattered Thursday evening when, Dallas police say, someone tossed a full gallon jug of water from a downtown apartment building.
"I was just sitting at the light and all of a sudden I just heard... like an explosion," said Janae Ackenhausen, who was in the Infiniti sedan. "I thought maybe I had got hit from behind."
"The jug came down and busted the windshield," said Arthur Edwards, who witnessed the terrifying scene at the corner of Akard Street and Pacific Avenue around 6 o'clock. "It came from out of nowhere."
"I was so scared," Ackenhausen said. "Somebody could have really got hurt."
Fortunately, she and another person in the car were not injured — just startled — when the eight-pound projectile hit.
Police were investigating the incident as a case of criminal mischief.
