DALLAS — The man who was sentenced to 24 years in prison for trying to blow up a downtown Dallas skyscraper has withdrawn his appeal.

Hosam Smadi filed the motion on Tuesday. Last week, the 20-year-old appealed the sentence.

Smadi pleaded guilty earlier this year to attempted use of weapons of mass destruction after the FBI found out about his plans to blow up the 60-story Fountain Place office tower.
