DALLAS — Dallas police have named Manuel Edgar Perez as a person of interest in the murder of a pregnant woman and her unborn child.

Elena P. Reyna, 31, was found critically injured on March 2 in the 7800 block of Elam Road. She was five-and-a-half months pregnant, and doctors were unable to save the fetus.

Reyna died on Monday morning.

Police said a witness saw a man standing next to the victim before fleeing in a red Dodge pickup truck.

Detectives are seeking Perez, 28,  for questioning. He has a red 2001 Dodge Ram extended cab pickup truck with Texas license plates 20C-YV4.

Perez is described as 5'-8", 160 lbs. with a black hair, brown eyes and a light goatee.
