DALLAS — A routine grass fire in the Red Bird area of Dallas has developed into a double homicide investigation.

Shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday, Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a report of a fire in a wooded area near Glen Oaks Boulevard and Town Creek Drive.

The first units to arrive found a car on fire. When they extinguished the flames, they found two bodies inside the vehicle.

Dallas police homicide investigators and the medical examiner's office were summoned to the scene.

Police could only say that the two individuals were adults, but because of the fire there was no way to immediately determine their precice age, race or gender.
