DALLAS - The Dallas mother accused of torturing her 3-year-old daughter during potty training is expected in court today to address the care of her children.

Elisabeth Escalona is accused of gluing her little girl's hands to a wall as punishment for soiling her pants. The toddler also showed signs of severe beating.

She remains hospitalized, now off life support and improving.

At today's hearing, it could be ruled that the girl and her three siblings should continue to remain in the care of Child Protective Services with parental ties cut, or they could be placed with the children's father or other family members.

The hearing is the beginning of a long legal battle.

Escalona faces felony charges for the alleged torture of her daughter.
