Texas DPS most wanted fugitive captured in Louisiana

Authorities in Ville Platte, Louisiana, captured a most-wanted fugitive Tuesday hours after he was added to the Texas Department of Public Safety 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list

Cory James Fisher, 35, was taken into custody without incident by the Ville Platte Police Department and the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office.

Fisher was wanted for possession of cocaine, tampering with evidence and parole violation. He is a known member of the Gangster Disciples gang and has a lengthy criminal past, including: aggravated robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm and evading arrest, according to officials.

DPS officials say Fisher has ties to Abilene, Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas. Fisher also goes by the name "Cory Ladey."

A $10,000 cash reward was being offered for information that led to Fisher's capture. It was unlcear if a tip led to Fisher's arrest Tuesday.

There are four different ways to provide anonymous tips:

•Call the Crime Stoppers hot line at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).

•Text the letters DPS – followed by your tip – to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.

•Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.
