Crime Stoppers offers $5,000 reward for information in Mesquite murder

Eddie Mendez, 39, was shot in a Dodge pickup in the 3800 block of Town East Boulevard, according to Mesquite Police Lieutenant Bill Hedgpeth. Detectives are seeking information about a vehicle seen driving through the parking lot at the time of the shooting. The vehicle is described as a large four-door sedan, possibly a silver Mercury Grand Marquis.

MESQUITE -- Crime Stoppers is offering $5,000 to anyone with information regarding a fatal shooting Monday night.

Eddie Mendez, 39, was shot in a Dodge pickup in the 3800 block of Town East Boulevard, according to Mesquite Police Lieutenant Bill Hedgpeth. Mendez was taken to Baylor Hospital in Dallas, where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses reported a black male was seen running from the scene around the time of the shooting. No other identifying information was given.

Detectives are also seeking information about a vehicle seen driving through the parking lot at the time of the shooting. The vehicle is described as a large four-door sedan, possibly a silver Mercury Grand Marquis (see photo above).

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
