FORT WORTH -- Fort Worth police arrested a 21-year-old man Wednesday for the murder of a TCU student at an apartment.

TCU senior Stewart Trese, 23, was found dead with apparent trauma to the body by TCU police around 9:15 a.m. at the GrandMarc apartment complex across the street from campus.

Homicide investigators determined an "altercation" had occurred between acquaintances before the murder. Police obtained a warrant Tuesday and arrested 21-year-old David Hidalgo Wednesday.

The case remains under investigation and homicide detectives have requested the media not display any photos of Hidalgo until further notice.

"There is no danger or threat of further violence related to this incident on the TCU campus," Fort Worth police said in a written statement Tuesday.

A friend tells News 8 Trese was a marketing major at TCU and was involved in a Christian fraternity. School records show he was also the valedictorian at Hill School in Fort Worth.
