PLANO -- Police have made an arrest in the case of nine puppies stolen from two Collin County Petland locations earlier this month.

Darrell Wayne Ramirez is being held on $25,000 bond for burglary of a building.

On October 8, two masked men smashed the front window of Petland stores in Plano and Frisco in two separate incidents 30 minutes apart, and stashed nine total puppies into a suitcase. The dogs were a multitude of breeds, including a least one of the following: Dachshund, Beagle, Shih Tzu, English Bulldog, soft-coated Wheaten Terrier, Shih-poo (Shih Tzu and Poodle cross), and Boglen Terrier (Beagle and Boston Terrier cross).

The dogs were valued at a total of $5,000. It is believed the suspect may have sold some of the dogs this month.

If you've purchased a dog of any of those breeds since Oct. 8 and recognize the suspect from the sale, please contact the Plano police. The dogs are all have microchips and can be checked at your local animal shelter.
