Arlington school locked down due to nearby shooting now cleared

ARLINGTON - A shooting at the Huntington Meadows apartment complex led to a lockdown of Nichols Junior High School for 45 minutes at the end of school day Thursday as a precaution while police searched for the suspect.

One person was shot. There is no word on the individual's condition.

Police detained a suspect and the lockdown was lifted shortly after.

Bus transportation was offered for any student who was held at the school.
