ARLINGTON –– The weekend came to a deadly end in Arlington.
Detectives from the Arlington Police Department are investigating two separate murders that happened late Sunday evening.
The first crime happened at a home in the 5300 block of Wild West Drive. Investigators said concerned relatives called police to have officers check on a woman who lives at the home.
During the welfare check later that night, officers saw the woman lying motionless on the ground through a window.
"She had obvious trauma to her body, prompting this incident to be investigated as a homicide," writes department spokeswoman Tiara Richard.
A cause of death is pending an autopsy. The woman has not been identified, although Richard said she was in her 60s or 70s.
A separate homicide late Sunday night happened outside a sports bar in the 4900 block of Little Road near Interstate 20 and Highway 287. Investigators said they found a man's body in the driver's seat of a vehicle. The window was shattered. The victim is in his 20s or 30s and has not been identified.
Any witnesses are asked to call police at 817.459.5336 to submit an anonymous tip.
Police did not make arrests in either case and they do not appear to be related.
