DALLAS — Dallas police canceled an Amber Alert for two missing children Wednesday night after they were safely delivered to the Central Patrol Division around 9:30 p.m.
The two children were feared to be in danger after they disappeared Wednesday afternoon in the custody of Christopher Garcia, 24, who is still wanted for questioning in the case of a third child's death.
Every available Dallas police officer and some federal agents had been involved in the urgent search for the two missing children, identified as four-year-old Frank Cavello and eight-month-old Chrislynn Garcia. Police said Chrislynn is Christoper Garcia's daughter.
Police confirmed that the children were in good condition after being taken to police headquarters by three women. Frank and Chrislynn were taken to the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center; the three women were being questioned. Their relationship to the children was not made clear.
Garcia is known to frequent the area of South Polk Street and Highway 67 in Oak Cliff. Police said the person of interest may be driving a white 1998 Ford F-150 pickup truck with Texas plates AC49232.
Call 911 immediately if you see Christopher Garcia.
Garcia vanished after another child was declared dead at Charlton Methodist Hospital.
Police said they responded to a report of an injured child at the Bella Vista Apartments on Chaucer Place near Southwest Center Mall.
Sources told News 8 the injured child appeared to have been severely beaten. Investigators want to question Garcia in connection with that incident.
Garcia has a criminal record related to illegal drugs, but has no history of violence.
