CONROE, Texas (AP) — A Houston-area bank robbery suspect who fled jail more than a week ago has been caught after police dogs tracked him into some woods.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says Britt Privatte was captured Thursday in north Harris County and a dozen people face charges.
Lt. Dan Norris says Privatte was seen walking from a hotel. Police dogs found Privatte into a tree, he jumped and ran but was caught. Privatte was treated for a dog bite before being returned to the lockup in Conroe.
Norris says 11 inmates are charged with hindering apprehension in the March 17 escape from a jail recreation area. A person from Cleveland, about 25 miles east of Conroe, faces evidence tampering charges.
Privatte was jailed on aggravated robbery charges following a January bank holdup.
