SAN ANTONIO -- A man was killed overnight after police say one of the men he was drinking with stabbed him in the chest with a sword.
The name of the deceased was not immediately available, although police said he was 30 years old.
According to a San Antonio police report, he was drinking and listening to music with a "good friend" and the man's girlfriend outside their apartments in the 300 block of Grove Avenue.
The friend and suspect has been identified as 33-year-old Christopher Shows.
Police said Shows and the victim got into an argument after the victim started dancing with and touching his girlfriend.
Shows told police he decided to call it a night and advised his friend to do that same. He and his girlfriend then went inside their apartment and locked the door so they could go to sleep.
Witnesses told police the victim began banging on his friend's door, saying "open the door so I can kick your ass and your girlfriend's ass," according to the report.
Shows told officers that he grabbed a sword and stabbed the victim in the chest after the victim managed to kick in the door.
However, police noted the door swings outward and there was no apparent damage to the door or frame.
Shows was placed under arrested after investigators interviewed his girlfriend and another witness.
