FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — A North Texas man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for a 2010 crime spree that left a deliveryman dead.

Jose Clemente Ramos Jr. pleaded guilty Tuesday to capital murder in the death of Ruben Martinez outside a Fort Worth convenience store. As part of a plea deal, prosecutors did not seek the death penalty.

Ramos still faces a capital murder charge in the robbery and slaying of Nancy Weatherly of Godley.

Earlier this year, Ramos' friend Mark Anthony Soliz was convicted and sentenced to death in Weatherly's murder.

Ramos on Tuesday also pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery, burglary and deadly conduct during the two-county, seven-day crime spree. Ramos received two life prison terms and a 20-year sentence, to be served concurrently.
