McKINNEY — A 17-year-old Prosper High School student and football player remained behind bars in the Collin County Jail Tuesday charged with sexual assault.

Garrick White is one of five Prosper teens arrested following the alleged sexual assault of a child. News 8 has learned that child is a 16-year-old girl reportedly attacked off campus.

Prosper Police also arrested 17-year-old Darius McClinton-Hunter, the son of Los Angeles Angels outfielder Torii Hunter. The Prosper High School student and football player got out of jail on Monday after posting bond. McClinton-Hunter had no comment as he left with his attorney at his side.

Three more juveniles also arrested in the case are expected to make their first appearance in court later Tuesday. Police said two are facing charges for sexual assault and one is charged with unlawful restraint of a child.

At Prosper High School, parents told News 8 it is a trying time.

Many parents said they are grateful school officials reached out to inform them by letter or email about the situation.

Prosper police said their investigation continues and they expect to file more charges in the case. Officials said they've been investigating the alleged attack for the last month already.

McClinton-Hunter's father, major league baseball player Torii Hunter, is expected to return to Texas at any time now to be with his son.
