ARLINGTON — There is still no word on who killed an Arlington church pastor and left his ministry assistant critically injured on Thursday.

Police found Pastor Clint Dobson, 27, and Judy Elliott, 67, late yesterday afternoon inside the church in the 2200 block of Brown Boulevard.

Elliott was rushed to the hospital in critical condition on Thursday. Her condition was upgraded to stable on Friday and doctors said she is expected to survive.

Oak Farms is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the assailant or assailants.

Investigators now say there was no sign of forced entry when they arrived.

Police also say they now believe the motive was robbery after finding items missing from the church and the two victims.

NorthPointe Baptist Church has no surveillance video of the crime.

Speaking on behalf of the church community, First Baptist Arlington Executive Director Dr. Dennis Wiles said he hired Pastor Dobson to lead NorthPointe two years ago after he had been one of Wiles' best seminary students.

Wiles said Pastor Dobson accepted the job with the same enthusiasm he brought to the job, especially committed to helping the disadvantaged.

It wasn't long after Dobson arrived at NorthPointe that he met and married his wife.

Wiles said the NortPointe church community is shaken and feeling very vulnerable after what happened on Thursday. He said, however, they are sustained thanks to the power of God.

All Friday morning, people from around the region came to NorthPointe to offer their support. Members of prayer groups, neighbors — even strangers arrived to offer flowers, prayers, condolences — anything they could to help show support for this small church.

Police said it will be up to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office to release the cause of death for Pastor Dobson.

Arlington police say they believe the person responsible for this attack may be driving Judy Elliott's sedan. It is a four-door, cream-colored 2007 Mitsubishi Galant, license plate DFR-352. If you see it, call police but do not approach the occupant or occupants.
