FORT WORTH - The opening of the first Trader Joe's grocery in North Texas brought huge, enthusiastic crowds to the store on Hulen Street just south of Vickery.

Trader Joe's has an extremely loyal following, especially in California. Many California transplants waited in long lines inside the boutique grocery, but most said they had already waited for years for anyway for Trader Joe's to open in Fort Worth.

Several police officers tried to keep traffic moving, but over-crowded parking lots and construction on the Hulen Street bridge made that impossible.
