HOUSTON - There's a new way to get from Dallas to Houston.
The city-to-city express bus service known as "Megabus" launched from Houston Thursday.
The big blue double-deckers are equipped with bathrooms and Wi-Fi. Service also will be offered to Austin, San Antonio and Galveston.
"This exciting new option is something that we're really pumped about, because it's going to bring another low-cost service into getting people into Houston," said Greg Ortale with the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Megabus service aims to be a bargain.
At least one ticket on every ride goes for one dollar. Prices rise as tickets are sold. The maximum is usually less than $50 each way.
The company is able to keep costs down because there's hardly any overhead. They do not rent space at a bus terminal.
