MESQUITE - Thousands of North Texans parents are getting ready for some back-to-school shopping this weekend.

Thursday morning the doors open to the Mesquite Rodeo Exhibit Hall for the “Just Between Friends” consignment sale. All kinds of maternity and children's items are sold at discount prices. That includes school uniforms and backpacks.

"I think moms just know the reality of how expensive it is to raise their kids,” said Stacey Losher, one of the mother’s organizing the event. “I have four kids, so I know what it's like and my kids outgrow their stuff so fast. So it's just the only way to get rid of things that you don't need anymore, but also find great deals on things you need for the next season."

"Just Between Friends" sale runs Thursday through Sunday. Everything is half price on Sunday. All unsold items will be donated to the Buckner Children's Home in Dallas.
