DALLAS - The Dallas County health department exhausted its supply of 2009 H1N1 flu vaccine on Friday as it announced the 16th death linked to the illness.

Friday was the third day of the county's first large-scale walk-in vaccination clinic for the swine flu. The county started the week with about 10,000 doses. Late Friday morning, more than 8,100 had been used.

The clinic is aimed at uninsured Dallas County residents who fit into the groups considered at highest risk of getting very ill with the H1N1 flu.

County officials do not know exactly when they will get more vaccine, although Texas health officials said this week that all county health departments will be getting significantly more vaccine in the near future.

Also Friday, Dallas County confirmed its 16th H1N1-related death. A 23-year-old Dallas County man who died in early October was infected with H1N1. The man had underlying medical conditions, the heath department said. No other details were released.
