NEW YORK (AP) — South Florida airports are returning to normal operations but airlines are warning of cancellations in and around New Orleans due to the movement of Tropical Storm Isaac.
The flight-tracking service FlightAware says airlines canceled more than 230 flights on Monday as Isaac targeted parts of the Gulf Coast.
Dallas-based Southwest Airlines canceled 35 Florida flights Monday between its Southwest and AirTran brands.
Fort Worth-based American Airlines has a major hub at Miami International Airport and was affected the most. The airline had 148 cancellations in Florida on Monday morning but operations were returning to normal.
Airlines canceled 857 flights on Sunday — including 489 by American.
