FORT WORTH - Lockheed Martin has agreed to meet with federal mediators to try to settle the now nine-week-old machinists strike.
Lockheed and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers will meet on Wednesday with the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service.
About 3,600 workers are striking in Fort Worth, largely over pension benefits.
Lockheed, the Pentagon's biggest supplier, hired temporary replacement workers to stay on target with the production of the F-35 fighter jets.
