DALLAS -- Dallas real estate legend Ebby Halliday celebrated her 99th birthday this week , and she did it in style with a party at Dallas City Hall on Wednesday.
Her real birthday was Tuesday, but Mayor Tom Leppert and the Dallas Regional Council hosted the party one day late.
Halliday is a big sports fan, so Mayor Leppert presented her with a Dallas Cowboys jersey with the number "99."
Halliday also shared her secret to longevity: keeping busy.
And that she does.
Halliday still drives herself to work every day, and is involved in her real estate firm.
Born March 9, 1911, Ebby Halliday started her business career selling women's hats in Kansas City and then later in Dallas.
When a Dallas developer challenged her to sell a home the way she sold hats, Halliday took the challenge. It inspired her and her husband Maurice Acers to start Ebby Halliday Realtors.
The company is now one of the top real estate brokerages in the United States.
