Missing 6-year-old reunited with family

Fort Worth Police have located a 6-year-old who went missing Friday evening.

The girl was last seen at home around midnight Friday evening in the 3500 bock of Avenue K.

The child's parents first noticed she was missing at 4 a.m. Saturday morning.

Police say a citizen heard what she thought were screams coming from a wooded area in the park near the family home Saturday afternoon.

The citizen then called 911. When police arrived to the scene they found an adult male who ran and hid from authorities.

Fort Worth Police are looking at him as a person of interest in this incident.

There are no visible injuries to the girl, however she has been taken to Cook Children's Hospital for examination. WFAA is not identifying the girl in this story as the investigation continues.
