The National Weather Service now says there were three tornadoes in the storms that hit North Texas on April 3.

Meteorologists who spent time reviewing the damage south of Cooper in Delta County said it was the result of straight-line winds, not a funnel cloud.

The weather service said the tornado in Hunt County Thursday evening was rated an EF-1, with 110 mph winds and an 11.1-mile damage path that was wider than seven football fields. Four people were injured in that twister that first touched down 8.5 miles northwest of Greenville.

Thursday's tornado in Hopkins County also rated EF-1, with top winds of 105 mph. Damage was confined to an area near the intersection of Highway 154 and FM-71 in Birthright. No one was hurt.
