DALLAS -- Eight puppies were stolen early Friday morning by masked thieves who broke into a Dallas Petland store at Preston and Forest Lane.

It was all caught on tape, but these burglars left few clues.

This is the third Petland store to be hit by thieves in just two months. All of the break ins have been mostly the same. Thieves wearing hoods and gloves bust in through a door and quickly load up the precious dogs.

"It's really upsetting," said Petland general manager Chris Brauer. "Obviously, we deal with a lot of puppies and we try not to get emotionally attached to the dogs that come and go through here, but you do fall in love with the cute little furry faces."

Those furry little faces are all just eight-to-10 weeks old. The store's owner is worried that that whoever stole the dogs isn't taking good care of them.

"I mean, these are babies," said store owner Jay Suk. "They really need some care, and I noticed one of these guys dropped a puppy on the hard floor. I really worry about it."

The eight dogs taken in the theft are valued at $12,000. They are all micro-chipped and registered to Petland. Brauer hopes that will help bring the puppies back.

"We would like to make sure that these puppies are recovered, and taken care of well and find good homes," he said.
