FORT WORTH — A summer camp for children who need it most needs help itself — and fast.

Thieves stole almost everything from Camp L4's storage shed.

The Tarrant County day camp is for children who live at homeless or domestic violence shelters, children in foster care, or the children of addicts. It is run by Fort Worth's non-profit Recovery Resource Council.

The burglars took $7,000 worth of equipment, ranging from archery items and fishing poles to clothes and shoes.

Some of the children who attend do not have a pair of tennis shoes, or jeans to wear for horseback rides.  For many of the campers, they have never even seen a horse before.

Organizers say the camp will start next week as planned, but they need donations to replace the equipment so these youngsters can get the summer break they deserve.
