My name is Nina. I am a six-year-old black Labrador mix, weighing in at over 51 pounds. I've been spayed, micro-chipped and have all of my age-appropriate shots.

I'm heartworm-positive, but my treatments are free to my new family at a Metroplex-area VCA Animal Hospital after I'm adopted. This will provide the best total care for heartworm-positive dogs like me in treatment, as we'll have access to emergency care and overnight stays if necessary.

I came to the SPCA of Texas on March 17 because my owner surrendered me, so I am temporarily at the SPCA until I meet my forever family.

Hey, YOU could adopt me! Come meet with an adoption specialist today and take me home with you!

You can meet Nina or any of the other dogs and cats available for adoption at the SPCA of Texas Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center, 2400 Lone Star Drive in West Dallas, staring at noon Saturday. Call 214-742-7722 for more information.
