FORT WORTH — Fort Worth firefighters were looking for the arsonist who set at least nine cars on fire during early Saturday morning.

The incidents were within a one-mile radius of the intersection of Hemphill Street and Berry Avenue.

One woman said she woke up to find firefighters banging on her door around 4:30 a.m. Her daughter-in-law's Chevrolet Blazer sport utility vehicle was engulfed in flames.

"We just can't believe it," she told News 8. "It's at least a couple of thousand dollars in damage."

The fire department put out a call for help later in the morning saying anyone with information can call 817-469-8477. Callers can remain anonymous and may collect up to a $1,000.00 cash reward if the information leads to an arrest and conviction.
