The speed limit on Texas freeways may be going up dramatically.
The Texas House has passed a bill allowing the Texas Department of Transportation to raise the speed limit to 85 miles an hour on some highways.
TXDOT would have to conduct several studies to make sure it is appropriate.
The legislation now goes to the senate.
