Security guard kills assault suspect at Fort Worth transit center

FORT WORTH — A private security guard opened fire and killed a man at the Fort Worth Intermodal Transportation Center on Sunday morning.

Fort Worth Police said the guard was assaulted before the 6:45 a.m. shooting at 1001 Jones Street, but provided no additional details.

The guard was taken to a hospital for treatment of multiple injuries, but police said he is expected to survive.

The guard is a contracted employee through Ruiz Protective Services, which provides security at the ITC, which is a downtown hub for the Trinity Railway Express, Amtrak, Greyhound, The T buses, rental cars and taxis.
