ROCKWALL - Cpt. Austin Lowe has five children and they thought they were picking up their dad at the airport on Monday night, but around 10:30 a.m. a good change of plans.
Cpt. Lowe arrived unexpectedly to his six- year-old son's classroom and gets an emotional reaction.
"I missed you so much," is all his son Miah could say.
Sharon Elementary School in Rockwall rolled out the welcome mat and allowed the marine dad, who has been fighting in Afghanistan for the past eight months to surprise three of his kids at the same campus.
His daughter Kora and her classmates waved flags of support.
Lowe walked the halls of the school to surprise each child.
Even the teachers had smiles on their face because they were proud to have their school involved.
"The school's been really great," said Cpt. Lose. "They sent all the Marines packages. They've been very supportive."
His wife held down the fort for their five children.
Captain Lowe will be home for two weeks and then he heads back to Afghanistan.
The family should be reunited at Camp LaJune where he is scheduled to be stationed by summer time.
