Human skull found by work crew in Fort Worth field

Fort Worth police say a skull found by a work crew in an open field west of 7318 Calmont Ave. belonged to a woman. 

The skull was found in a shallow grave by Dr. Dana Austin with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner. 

The Fort Worth Police Homicide Detectives and the Tarrant County Medical Examiners Office are jointly investigating. The remains are believed to be of a woman between the ages of 20 and 45. She stands between 5' and 5'5'' with a small frame, a square chin and waist-length brown wavy hair, according to a press release. 

The woman could have been missing between six months to five years. It's not clear how she died.
