FORT WORTH — There are lots of unanswered questions after a Sunday morning explosion at a house in the 6400 block of Garland Avenue.

Homeowner Paige Pauley told News 8 she smelled what she thought was sewer gas overnight. She called a plumber, but before he got there, she turned on the hot water faucet and there was a blast.

"It blew out walls," Pauley said, adding that one of her three dogs, a Golden Retriever named Cassidy, was in the hallway where the explosion occurred and was singed, but otherwise okay.

"The other two were with me," Pauley said. "It knocked me back a little bit."

She and her dogs got out of the house and called 911.

Fort Worth arson and bomb units are investigating the cause of the explosion.
