DALLAS — The death of a pedestrian forced the shutdown of North Central Expressway in Dallas late Saturday night.
Police spokeswoman Officer Monica Cordova said 22-year-old Jonah Wilson had been drinking with a friend, and they walked to a service station to buy more beer.
As they walked back, Wilson — who police said was intoxicated — told his friend that he wanted to cross the freeway. His friend tried unsuccessfully to discourage him.
Cordova said Wilson was struck in the northbound lanes of the highway near Midpark Road by an oncoming vehicle, and was then hit by a second vehicle, which dragged him about 100 feet.
Wilson, with a home address in Porter, Texas, was killed.
The motorists who struck the pedestrian stopped to try and help and Cordova said no charges are expected.
Northbound traffic on Central Expressway was shut down during the investigation.
