Oncor says it will take all weekend to restore power to more than 206,000 customers.
The utility company has close to 4,000 employees and contractors working around the clock to repair problems from Thursday's record snowfall.
Dallas resident, Jeff Vance, doesn't feel safe inside his home. A tree snapped a power pole in his front yard and the lines are still sparking and causing the limbs to smolder.
"We have no electricity, no power and we're 8 feet from a burning tree. I just don't want to spend the night there," he said.
Oncor said it will focus first on public facilities, such as hospitals, police and fire stations.
Then it will fix problems in neighborhoods with the largest number of homes and businesses.
