MIDLOTHIAN — Midlothian City Council member Jason Kyle was arrested Wednesday on a charge of indecency with a child by contact, authorities said.
Kyle was indicted by an Ellis County grand jury on July 21 after police received a complaint on May 30. Police handed the case over to the district attorney's office because of his position on the council.
Kyle was elected to the council's Place 3 seat on May 8.
The district attorney's office said the alleged victim was a girl, but no other details were released.
Kyle was arrested this morning and has been released on $10,000 bond.
He is to be arraigned Sept. 9.
