IRVING — Irving police need help finding the driver of a pickup truck suspected of hitting a pedestrian in the 3700 block of Valley View Lane and leaving him to die without stopping to help on Sunday.

Irving Police Department spokesman John Argumaniz said officers found Timothy Niewolak, 52, suffering from severe injuries lying about 15 feet from the road just after midnight. Niewolak died at the scene shortly after officers arrived.

He was on his way to work when he was hit.

Argumaniz said investigators believe he was struck by a Ford F-150 pickup truck because of debris found at the scene. The only descriptive information police know about the vehicle is that it likely suffered damage around its passenger-side headlight and rear-view mirror area.

Irving police are asking businesses and individuals in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area to report anyone who brings a vehicle in needing repairs consistent with that damage.

Anyone with information regarding the hit-and-run is asked to call police at 972-721-2761.
