DALLAS - North Texans are teaming up to help children in need of support.
Later this month, you can help and get a little exercise at the same time. Organizers are inviting you to a Mega Zumba-thon and concert coming up.
The event is called the Scarred for Life Child Benefit Concert, and on Thursday morning, News 8 got an early preview. Zumba dancers and the band Icon Rising held a mini-zumba-thon at Fihankra Dance and Fitness Studio. Those supporters will be at the Dallas Convention Center on Saturday, Dec. 22 for the big party.
Ticket sales will benefit several groups, including Wednesday's Child and Family Compass.
“A lot of the purpose behind Zumba Fitness is to serve for charities,” said Oluremi Sano, the Executive Director at Fihankra Dance and Fitness Studio. “You’ll see Zumba-thons everywhere all over the United States, and a lot of work that we do as Zumba instructors is to give give back to the community through charity."
