GRANBURY -- City of Granbury officials confirmed Friday afternoon Mayor Rickie Pratt suffered a severe stroke and remains in Neuro-ICU in Fort Worth Friday.

"He is receiving excellent care and is in good hands," said Ken Grey, the mayor's brother-in-law and family spokesperson. "The doctors, hospital staff and family are vigilantly by his side."

Pratt was airlifted from Lake Granbury Medical Center to Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth Thursday morning. Specific information regarding the mayor's medical condition is unavailable due to privacy concerns.

"We will continue to release updated reports as appropriate details become available," said Shanna Smith, director of communication and marketing for the City of Granbury. "The City greatly appreciates thoughts and concerns for Mayor Pratt."

The City of Granbury is a council-city manager form of government and operations will continue as normal, according to a city press release.

Mayor Pratt took office in 2010.
