FORT WORTH –– Inside The Pour House on West 7th Street, the beer is always flowing and huge sales are on tap for this weekend.
“We are expecting great business,” said Shawn Howell, an employee at the popular sports bar.
Businesses are looking to cash in as the city celebrates the completion of the new 7th Street Bridge with a big bash.
“We did roughly $30,000 Saturday night of Halloween,” said Howell. “We are looking at that type of night.”
Crews spent Thursday getting the bridge ready for the festivities, cleaning the sidewalks and putting in lights.
On Friday night, the bridge will be transformed into a nightclub for a lighting ceremony and dinner party. Tickets are $77.
On Saturday, hundreds of people are expected to attend a free parade and dedication ceremony.
While businesses are gearing up for the big weekend, visitors take note: parking rules will be enforced at Montgomery Plaza and at the West 7th Street garage. Violators will be towed.
But, Cash America, which is located near the bridge, will be offering free parking at its garage.
Also, drivers look out for detours. The bridge will be closed because of the festivities. It's expected to reopen Saturday afternoon.
