DALLAS - Authorities are interviewing a person of interest in their search for a driver who left the scene of an accident that killed a seven-year-old girl who was crossing the 2700 block of West Northwest Highway just before 8 p.m. Saturday.

Devora Lopez was crossing the road with a family member when she was struck by two vehicles, one of which did not stop, police said. Witnesses told police a black Dodge Durango, which appeared to be a model between the 2004 through 2009 years, fled the scene. Authorities said the vehicle likely has left, front-end damage.

A Dallas police spokesperson said Monday the investigation is on going, and the person of interest has not been arrested.

Police are looking through surveillance videos from nearby businesses but have yet to release any further details.

Anyone with information pertaining to the crash is asked to call Dallas police.
