DALLAS — Thousands of abortion opponents gathered in downtown Dallas on Saturday in the state's largest March for Life demonstration.
They carried yellow LIFE balloons representing women who had an abortion and later regretted their decision.
One prominent speaker at a rally that followed the march was Norma McCorvey, the "Jane Roe" in the Supreme Court's historic Roe vs. Wade decision to legalize abortion in the U.S.
McCorvey had been among those who advocated for the right of women to have a choice; but she later had a change of heart.
"Anything in life is possible," she told News 8. "I mean, if they can take a complete heathen like I was and turn me into a Christian and put a new song in my mouth, then Roe can be overturned."
McCorvey added that she favors the controversial new law in Texas that requires abortion providers to show pregnant moms a sonogram and describe the baby before the woman can have an abortion. McCorvey said the law could mean more lives are saved.
